MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Memphis Grizzlies think they may have finally turned the corner in a frustrating, injury-plagued season. They certainly turned around their recent fourth-quarter play Saturday night in a 120-99 win over the Denver Nuggets. "Teams know that were going to play hard and, regardless of our record, were going to be a tough out," said guard Mike Conley, who had 14 points. "Weve always been a thorn in the side of a lot of teams. Hopefully, were starting to get back to that." Zach Randolph scored 20 points and the Grizzlies got 62 points from their bench as six Memphis players finished in double figures. Ed Davis led the reserves with 17 points, hitting 6 of 8 shots, while Jerryd Bayless had 15 points. James Johnson matched Conley with 14 points, and Mike Miller added 11, connecting on 3 of 5 outside the arc. Memphis sent the Nuggets to their sixth straight loss -- the longest Denver losing streak since a six-game skid in December, 2004. "There are a lot of things that we can take away from this game, and the five games before that," said Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler, who finished with 19 points. "If we want to win, we have to play harder, thats what is all comes down to." The 120 points were a season high for Memphis, and only two less than the most the Nuggets have allowed in a game this season. The teams had played six straight games where the winning margin was single digits, and Saturdays win was the most lopsided Grizzlies victory in the series history. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with 20 points, while Jordan Hamilton scored 12. "It was a thorough ripping all the way through," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said, later adding: "After we had a pretty decent first half, we gave up 30 points in the third quarter and 35 points in the fourth quarter. You are not going to win any games, especially on the road, against any team giving up numbers like that." The Grizzlies led by seven early in the final period before a 21-5 burst that included 3-pointers by Conley, Miller and Bayless gave them a 23-point lead. "We turned defence into offence," Conley said. "That was the biggest thing. We got out into transition, and we got easy 3s, pull up 3s. We had drive-and-kick layups and dunks." Memphis, which is playing without centre Marc Gasol and reserve wingman Quincy Pondexter due to injuries, trailed 56-55 at halftime. But the Nuggets began showing the fatigue of playing on the second night of a back-to-back in the third. Denver committed a handful of turnovers in the period, while connecting on 6 of 19 shots from the field. Meanwhile, Randolph was working inside to help Memphis build its first double-digit lead of the night. He scored 10 points in the third, leading Memphis to an 85-72 advantage entering the fourth. Memphis has won three of its last four. "At one point, we were struggling badly," Davis said. "I dont know how many we lost in a row, but the only thing we could do was win, and thats what we have to do the rest of the season." NOTES: The game marked the return of Darrell Arthur to Memphis, but the Nuggets forward didnt play because of a right quadriceps contusion. Arthur, who spent his first five seasons in Memphis, was traded in the off-season for C Kosta Koufos. ... The Nuggets, who lost Friday night to the New Orleans Pelicans, are now 1-5 in the second game of back-to-backs. ... Kenneth Faried returned to action after missing two games with a sprained left ankle. He played 13 minutes, finishing with three points and two rebounds. Wholesale Jerseys Online . This time around, hes an enemy.Hes a member of the playoff-bound New England Patriots now, and walking into MetLife Stadium on Sunday with the Jets AFC East rivals likely wont be the same experience hes used to.You know what, I dont really know, Revis said during a conference call Wednesday. Ill probably just approach it like I did when I played with Tampa last year, just treat it like another game. But the star cornerback is hardly just another big-name player making his way back to the town where he began his NFL career, as he was in the opening game of last season with the Buccaneers.Revis was once considered to be on his way to becoming one of the Jets greatest players, a shutdown cornerback who was the face of Rex Ryans defence that helped the franchise to consecutive AFC title game appearance in 2009 and 2010.The contract-related issues that marked his six seasons with the Jets came to a head when new general manager John Idzik traded him to Tampa Bay before last season.Revis, who bounced back from a severe knee injury, was on the move again a few months later when the Buccaneers tried to trade him last winter because of his huge salary scheduled for this season, but then released him.He was a free agent and chose Bill Belichick and the Patriots, a team he had learned to despise while in New York.Meanwhile, the Jets were never truly in the mix for the cornerback — a sore spot in New Yorks 3-11 season. Its a predicament that could cost Ryan his job, among others. They have a lot on their plate over there in that situation this year, Revis said. Its kind of sad for the position that Rex is in right now, but at the same time (the record is) something that theyve got to change.Revis was then asked whether he thought he could have helped if he were in New York.Im over here, he said. That ship has sailed. I missed that boat. I caught the New England Patriots boat.Having Revis in his secondary allowed Ryan to run his ideal scheme that uses a cornerback who locks dowwn opponents best receivers.dddddddddddd And that aspect has been sorely missed by Ryan and the defence, especially this season.Revis? a smiling Ryan said when asked about not having the cornerback. Ah, no. You know.Ryan did his best to tout the players on his current roster, but it has been clear that removing Revis from his defence has taken a toll.Consider this: The Jets starting cornerbacks last week at Tennessee were Marcus Williams and Phillip Adams, neither of whom was on the roster in training camp.Guys, I think weve addressed all of this before, Ryan said. You go back to our notes from the first time we played New England (in October) or even when Revis was in Tampa. You make decisions based on things. A lot of them work out, and some maybe dont work out as well as others. But I dont think its fair to sit back and say this or that.Revis still talks to some of his former Jets teammates, and hes aware of whats going on with the franchise he called home since being a first-round pick in the 2007 draft.Im really not trying to pay attention to that, Im really not, Revis said. Me and Rex have a lot of history and we all know that. Some of those guys are dear to my heart and everything, but like I said, Ive got to focus on the things that I am doing here and I wish Rex the best.Revis is playing at a Pro Bowl-level again, with 45 tackles, two interceptions and 14 passes defenced in the Patriots mixture of man-to-man and zone coverages.Oh, hes had a great season, Ryan said. Hes playing well. Theres no question about that.Revis future, though, is uncertain with the Patriots. He has a two-year contract with New England, but is scheduled to count $25 million against the teams salary cap next season. That means theres a strong possibility Revis could be available again if the Jets — with or without Ryan — want to bring him back home.Right now, my focus is playing against the Jets, Revis said. Im not really thinking about the off-season right now. Im thinking about focusing on the next game and the rest of the season.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL ' ' '
